Theme Week: UnTried Polish – Purple Holo

This is Milani Hi-Res, from the 3D holographic collection.  I looove all of the polishes in this series. Super bonus: this was so easy to remove.  Dreamy!  A nice simple mani with high impact.

Sorry I didn’t get any pictures in the sun. That’s where the holo really shines!

Theme Week: UnTried Polish – Blue

This is Last Friday Night by OPI, from the Katy Perry Collection. I layered it over Sally Hansen HD in Blu.  On reflection, I would do white under everything to get rid of the VNL, as these are both pretty sheer.  I do like how it came out bottle color for the OPI though.  The colors worked really nice together.

I like it in the shade better, you can see all the colors in the glitter that way, instead of just a reflection.

Theme Week: UnTried Polish – Orange Glass-Fleck

Woohoo! Two more untries down. I loooove anything nautical, so I bought the entire Anchors Away collection. Tried Lighthouse, White Cap, and Hey Sailor earlier this week and enjoyed them all.

My mani is China Glaze Life Preserver with Wet n’ Wild 9.0.2.1.Orange on the accent. This is two coats of Life Preserver, I would have done three for no visible nail line (VNL) but it was sooo late and I wanted to sleep.

This polish is a bit darker than it photographs, its a teesy bit more red-orange than yellow-orange…think old school life preserver color that you see on ferries and stuff. I wasn’t sure how it would look with my skin tone, but it is playing nice.

Only one coat of the WnW on my ring fingers.
Topped with Seche Vite.

Please excuse the tip wear…I type violently and I was too lazy to tip wrap, lol.

Theme Week: Untried Polish – Essie Shimmer

This was my first time wearing Essie ever! I thought they were a little streaky on the first coat, but evened out nicely. And this is four untried polishes for me, yeah stash bashing!

Essie Merino Cool (brown/taupe creme)
Essie Pretty Edgy (kelly green creme)
Konad Special Polish in White
China Glaze White Cap (gold shimmer/glitter?) 1 coat on accent nails

Looking at it today, I would only do Konad on the accent nails and skip the glitter in the future. But it was great stamping practice (so hard to get the image straight)!

Theme Week: UnTried Polish – Red Creme

For the first day of this theme week I did a red creme, Hey Sailor by China Glaze with Ruby Pumps (also China Glaze) as an accent nail.

Hey Sailor is nice and creamy looking, little bit more orange leaning than Ruby Pumps. Application was awesome.  I loved it as soon as it was on! Definitely now high on my list of reds.

NOTD: First Milani Manicure

The first Milani polish that I used, from the 3D collection, was the green, Hi-Res. I really like it and this mani was also my first attempt at Konad, with a few cute butterflies done in Bijou Blue, a navy shimmer Wet ‘n’ Wild Wild Shine polish.

I learned that I should wait a teensy bit longer before putting on my topcoat (Seche Vite), I had a bit of bleeding from the Konad.  And that I love holos.
